So I thought I'd build a stand to check the compression of my spare engine, and it wasn't that easy. The stand (out of wood) looks redneck but does the trick, enough for me to put all of my weight on the kicker without toppling the engine over.

Downside?

The kicker on goes so to about 90 degree, then stops.

When spinning the engine at the alternator, it'll go counter clockwise, but in the correct rotation of clockwise, it'll loosen the nut.

So, the engine spins in one direction to the bottom of the stroke, then stops, and only spins so far in "correct" rotation.

Does it need a good helping of Marvel or considerably more?
