Special Frame differs from stock xs?

Hey all.
I want to know if there is an appreciable difference or any at all in the Special frame and the typical xs frame?
It looks in some pics like there is a big brace just ahead of the swing arm pivot.

The rear shocks are canted forward at more of an angle. This lowers the rear slightly to give it the "chopper" look Yamaha was seeking with the Special. Other than the shock mounts, the two frame types are pretty much the same.
