I went for a nice run on Sunday did just over 400km was very happy with the
bike run very well until I saw nearly home then the speedo started to jump
around.
At first it was quiet slow but before I was home it saw jumping back and forward
between 40km/h and 200km/h just going crazy.

I'm thinking as I replaced a broken cable awhile ago maybe grease has migrated
up there and causing problem.

Do you think its wise to take it apart and have a look?

Any ideas?
As always your comments appreciated.

Possibly your drive is bad. Working intermittently? You might pull that front wheel and look to see if it is in one piece. Seems like the drive has little parts that stick out to engage the wheel and I was thinking if they are worn.....Might not but but something to check. I have head you can put the speedo cable into a variable speed drill and spin it up. If it seems to hold there ok at various rpms , at least to me , it would point to the drive. Does any of this make sense ? LOL

Thanks pumps for the reply.

I decided to pull it apart and have a look I notice it was making a squeaking
noise, a small drop of grease soon fixed that.

Then it started to work properly with the drill on it to be honest I don't know what
was wrong anyway its in the bike and working though looking alittle bit rough now after forcing off the steel outside ring.
