I find plenty of info saying 2" under is stock. But I need to know the length from the center of the axle to the lower bearings.

I have been searching for a while. Can any of you help?

"Hopefully this post will pop up in the search now)

Early on most of the custom parts where built around the Harley's. The amounts over or under are from the Harley's stock 31 inch axle to the top of the fork tubes. So a 2" under is 31 - 2 = 29 Our stock frorks are about 29 3/4" So a two under is very close to a stock 650 fork.

OK. I have the length from axle to lower crown. It is 23".

If anyone would be kind enough to measure a stock fork from axle to lower crown, unloaded that would be awesome! Unless someone already knows.

Here's some more Harley Fork info. These are all from the axle to lower crown.

Stole this
Harley – Davidson

Standard springer....................... .19 1/2 in.
Xa springer.......................................21 in.
Vl springer........................................19 in.
45 springer.......................................19 in.
standard glide (early FL)................21 1/2 in.
superglide (FX)..................................23 in.
early sportster.............................. ....21 in.
early optional sportster (XLCH).............22 in.
late sportster....................................23 in.

And if you want to know how to ID the tubes...use this:

Thanks, I have four over fork assemblies it seems no wonder it sits so high.
