trying to get pics up is harder then fitting this front end on.pain in the ass.:wtf: I have more pics of this project but need to get through the computer ,posting stuff learning curve. front end is 2005 r6 usd forks, wheels are from kawasaki er6n, swing arm is tt500 from grand prix speed works, holds a 160 rear no problm and is same lenth as radian. plops right in.sold the radian swing arm for close to as mch as the price as this one.it super light and cromoly, that was a no brainer.front end is just about done, wave rotors are finly lined up in between to calipers. had to remove 1 mill on each side of hub.steering stem takes two bottom xs650 size bearings to fit. what luck. just need to press out bottom spacer. the back sprocket was a peace of cake. thay make a 34 tooth that fits the same bolt pattern for one of those work type four wheeler thingys. just needed to do little reaserch to match it. 25 bucks 520 width and steel . it should be off the sling this weekend and rolling. sucky part is when im done I get to tear it all down and paint the frame again. I can,t get into the silver anymore.

Sharp as hell! Love that lathe! Beautiful job man. You should throw some pics to that new Barnett's BikeCraft magazine. Garage builds are prominent in the mag, and 'ol Dave Edwards loves nothing more! 3 SX articles in the inagural issue too!

yeah, y,not but while im at it I thinks its time for one of those new clutch hydrolic thingys hugh is selling. thanks for kind words sir.

 for the checkered floor. I also dig that tt500 swingarm and rear caliper mounted in the 6 o'clock position. You mentioned ditching the silver powdercoat on the frame, what are your plans?

plans are to paint the frame a dark charcoal metalic. the rear disc will be located at 12 oclock for this wheel once I weld a tap for carrier to slide into. the alignment of rear wheel I have not spent alot of time on yet. just set in place to make sure all systems where a go. It won,t be a problem. Im looking at shimming in alittle at sprocket carrier and out at front sprocket to make a 1/4 inch off set. just got tire mounted on front rim tonight.hoping to have it of the sling and rolling on saturday. once front is all dailed in every thing else will come easy. the rear wheel already spins the chain pretty darn strait.I just have,nt spent the time yet for dead on aceruate. I,ll get pics of chain and wheel clearince this weekend.

looks good so far, thinking my next bike will have cast wheels.
where did you get the boxed swing arm? the one that is not painted in your pictures.

old dude, love your bike. to answer your question the swing arm comes from grand prix speed works.I think I said hot wing glass in previous post but I was mistaken. it is the tt500 model. you will need to hog out rear axle area from 17 to 20 if going with larger axle.took me a couple hours to do swing arm and adjusters. here are some better pics but I still have not put any time in lining it up . just put in place so I can drool on it for now. was hoping to have it of the sling this week end but I came close. needed to press out neck stem to remove bottom race. went and got press, harbor freight. put press together. shim the slopeyness out of it. cross me fingers and hope for the best. we,ll it worked out in my favor. the ring on the bottom of neck stem in the pics is what you want to pop out.me not scared of those anymore.but I was getting nervous every time I put more preasure down.the 12 ton press was probobly just enough power. painted tripple tree and pressed back in.yeah, next I painted fork lowers, calipers and carrier ring for rotors. rotors are from my excel rims ,needed to redrill them to fit kawasaki rim. also needed to shave 1/8 inch of bottom of neck stem on frame.finley looks like all is ready to be fitted but ran out of time. with any luck I can fit in couple hours after work this week and move on to the rear next weekend.

finely. the front is on and I could take it off the sling. Im happy with how it sits. now I can move on to lining up the rear end, I had to throw on my old cafe tail peace I started on year ago ,the clip on bars look good and feel nice. it seems it might be taking on more of a street fighter stance.we,ll see what this weekend brings. might be regreating selling my rear sets.

thanks guys, I managed to get lots of work done. painted frame, I chickened out and painted it black. welded up the rear of frame where the hoop was so I now have proper holder for tail section. everything is lined up and all is going back together this weekend. Will try to get pics up sunday but this computer has been giving me problems. as far as selling parts I have been considering selling the old wheels, shocks, swing arm,and other stuff.money is tight and I could use some to finish this project. but my work schedual is buisy and its hard to find time to box and ship stuff.

Well cool for you can't wait for the picks of all your handy work and now the tail section too. I am getting ready to start on mine out there just have to finish up this back yard project for the Mrs.

First dips on the shocks an maybe the swing arm if there is such a thing, what size are the shocks and springs are they, how much? No rush so it won't be a high concern for you to get them to me if they work out for me.

been busy using every chance I get to work on it.more pics of build to come.

thank you, very much guys. the rear tail is the omars xrwo something or other. I will be making a cafe tail for it over the winter. probobly will redo all the body work altogether. plus need to make front fender. I should have time in a couple weeks to figure out what will be getting sold. but for now my main focus is get it running and on the road by sept.1 I don,t see myself using alot of the old parts, shock, wheels, swing arm, ect. but I would need to spend some time to take a good look at the old parts, take pics of them to disclose their blemishes or what not. the flat track wheels are a learning process so who ever I sell them to whould have to be sure thay can mount a wheel.the hard stuff I already made though.
