swaping rotors?

i plan on replacing my charging rotor this week after work one night but befor i do that i had some questions about it. first off im getting and 81 stator/rotor off someone else on the site here and what i was wondering was if im going to have to reset my timing after i replace just the charging rotor the stator that i have is fine so im going to keep that.

Changeing an '81 for an '81? I believe they're keyed so you should be fine. Just for laughs, make a note of the position of the magnet and duplicate if they're not..

i figured i should be fine cuz of the key lining up but like i said i was not for sure about it.
