I'm not going to run a tach. Can I take the worm gear out of the side cover, and put a cap in the top. Does someone make a cap for that?

if you pull the tach drive shaft make sure you get the machice washer that is under it, don't want that floating around inside with the gears

I left the gears in my case so if I ever decide to go back to a tach everything will be right there. I wonder how much HP increase you would gain by removing the worm gear? Probably not much but it should be something. Mikesxs has a nice little cap that screws on the outside............BG
