I might have found out why the 76' I am restoring stopped running however long ago... This was too good not to share. What you see here is the remnants of the main fuse lead. Each end of the red positive wire was held onto the fuse itself by a wrap of tin foil, then 'secured' in with a protective layer of electrical tape.

Lucky for me this is the old original harness... I have been using it to trace some connections as a reference, for the new one that is going in!

Yeah, it's interesting when you find that one good unfixed reason why a bike was parked for years. On some of my barn finds I've found things such as, one bad coil on one, one bad plug cap on one, a bad rotor on two bikes, two ignition wires wired wrong on one, a bad stator on one, all obvious reasons why they were parked and sitting for years.
