hey fellas,
I have a rewired 1978 650, that the key is down by the air filters, my key broke and I'm having a hard time finding another one that hooks up to just two wires. Mine has a red and white wire. I'm willing to go with a toggle switch, but the one i bought gets really warm after a few minutes. Any advice on where to get a key turn on , or what type of toggle switch to use. thank you

Your switch might not be rated for the amperage you're applying. Try getting a bigger one. 12 V and 10 A, I believe. You could even go bigger than that just to be safe.

Do you have a farm supply store near you? There are several TSC stores near me. They sell a keyed on/off switch, just two wires. They are for old Ford tractors. Cost about $16. Look like this. You can buy one just like it in any parts catalog like J&P, Dennis Kirk, for like $40.
