Just wondering if anyone can tell me the torque setting for putting back together split cases. I see the tightening sequence is stamped on the bottom case.
Thanks

The cases and fasteners for all those years are identical. Pick a number between 14 and 16 footpounds and go for it. The factory manual can be downloaded free at www.biker.net ; can't believe you got that far without it. BTW, the numbers on the cases give the assembly sequence; in disassembly, work in reverse order.

Thanks for the tips guys. When ever I have built motors in the past I always do them in steps never the full torque. But never thought of actually setting my torque wrench for 5,10,15 great advice.

Thanks for the link to the manual. I knew I would need it much much sooner then later.
