I am making a list of the items to change / Upgrade on my XS2 - first decision is Tyre‘s - currently have 4.10 x 19 on the front and 4.15 x 18 on the rear - having searched and read other post on tyre size I don’t see any other bikes with this size on the front ?

I am looking at fitting Heidenau K67 Trials 350-19 on the front and Heidenau Trail K67 400-18 on the rear (if I can find them in stock in the UK) - do you think the smaller width be ok ?

if I can not find them in the uk - any other suggestions - this is what I am aiming for my build to look like

Hi Flyingspanner, there is a fair bit of tolerance when it comes to tyre and rim sizes, so I think you'll be fine. Manufacturers sizes vary a bit anyway, so a tyre marked 4.1 need not be wider than somebody else's 4.0.

These people https://gripnriptyres.co.uk/product/heidenau-k67/ have the Heidenau in 4.00x18 and 3.25x19 - don't know if that would be a bit narrow on the front?

Minor problem, but I can't zoom your pictures. How do you attach photos - I use the attach phots button?

Good luck with the build, Raymond

PS The zoom thing is local to me - just looked at the photos, like the style.

Hi @Flyingspanner
I run 18 / 18 front and rear using Pirelli MT90 (MT60) SCORPION ST
FRONT 100/90-18
REAR 140/80-18
They are available in 18'' & 19'' sizes
They grip well in all weathers and are great on and off road.

Hello Adam, Sorry to hijack this thread, but xs650.com doesn't allow personal messages as far as im aware.

I had to make an account today to just show my admiration and infatuation with your bike. I think its one of the most beautiful ones I've seen!
A personal favorite and something I think I'm going to aim towards with my xs650 that I've just picked up.

Could you please share some more information on the bike at all and what parts you used etc. Also could you share some more photos, or have an instagram for it maybe? Im in Australia, and I'm trying desperately to find 18 inch rims like yours to use but I can't seem to find anything. Could you also provide more info on where you picked them up from and what specs they are?

Very much appreciated and absolutely beautiful bike!

Hello Flyingspanner,

Thanks for the kind words about my bike.
Regarding further information about 'Taffy' my XS650 you could get all you need from my build thread below.
I chased this machine for 23 years before I got it as a non-runner.
All info should be contained including a full rewire with Moto Gadget kit; wheel info, and a build sheet with most parts referenced.
