Ummmm..... My very different build thread

Bought some exhaust tube today so I can run it thru my tube roller and make another set of pipes more fitting to the frame design. Here are the latest mock up pictures.

Thanks for the compliments/interest, I am just a regular dude with a passion for anything with a motor and I also have an obsession for metal fabrication. The bike sat in boxes for the last year because I could not pick a direction to go with it.....it wasn't untill about three weeks before the build that I came up with the design. I knew going into this that the bike would not appeal to all......but I don't give a sh&@. I wanted something with an old school hot rod attitude..............but it had to be different.

The rear tire by the way is a avon cobra 200/55/18

Looking at your build you certainly see a passion for fabrication. When you design something outside the norm, there will be those who may not jive with what you are creating. So i agree. Who gives a shit? I dig it. Not particularly my style but then again, way beyond my skill set and vision. I cant wait to see this come together. Build on man

Do you have any chain clearance issues with the 200 rear tire?

I love metal Fab, I am no were near that talented, I can only dream and get better with practice.

What's the rake on that sucker?

I really like what your building Rumblechop! Damn that's cool as hell.
I do have a question though, what does that sucker weight?

Very, very cool. I like the leaf idea for the rear suspension. I was kicking the idea around of a dual leafer for the rear. Then I saw my idea on a Harley and I ditched it.

I think later down the road you should do a girder that mimmicks the swing arm.:bike:

Spent many hours in the garage this weekend. Does not look like I hardly did a thing however. Spenthours in front of the lathe making parts, started with a front axle, spacers and some new ends for the girder so that it would accept a 3/4" axle. The front wheel is now narowed by 2 1/2" and its mounted in the girder ready to go.

Spent another couple hours on the lathe turning a piece of 2" barstock into a stem for the girder since it did not come with one.

I also wipped up a temporary mount for the rear leaf spring so that I could work on some ideas and see how well it holds the bike up.........actually seems like it is gonna work damn good. I will need to mount a shock somehow to control the bounce though.

Been fooling around with this vertical rear leaf spring...heres where I am at. It is holding the bike up, everything is tacked together.I am having a hard time getting used to the added parts back there.....or not...haha I don't know, what do you guys think?

As far as the seat. I think a leaf spring setup off the back bone would be cool. Maybe put the seat a little further back. Not sure on the rear. Maybe a mono shock type setup?
