I am getting ready to send my frame to powedercoat, I have a 77 model, I believe I saw a sticker in front of the neck.

So the question is, if it is a VIN sticker, is there a process to remove it and put it back on? or is the VIN stamped on there?

Thanks,

The partial vin is stamped on the neck. I don't kow if you have anywhere locally that would do it for you but I was able to find a sign company here that was able to recreate the vin sticker for me. I just had to get a good clear pic of it and give them the dimensions so they could print one off for me.

On the 77 I don't think the sticker has the vin on it. The vin is stamped into the neck beside the sticker. The DMV or DOT which ever, didn't require a 17 digit number till 80 something. My 81 has it on the sticker but the title only used the 9 digit number on the frame. May vary by state.
My 75 has the sticker but it only has the weights and such on it. And most of that was rubbed off by the wiring harness.
