Having owned 5 XS650’s equipped with original points ignition which have all worked , I’m confident this shown equipment will function in the 6th XS.
Boyer Brandson is sure tempting but that system isnt in my garage

If points need to be serviced every 5,000 miles, and you only put 2,000 miles a year on the bike, keep the points. In the end, you will spend much less time servicing points than converting to electronic ignition.
5,000 miles?
On the points equipped XS’s I’ve encountered 10,000 miles is a reasonable life span. With proper cleaning and lube of course.
