xs1 rear axle length

hi from scotland can anybody tell me the correct length the rear axle (back wheel spindle)for a xs1 the reason i ask is i have a very early cush drive wheel from a tx or xs500 it comes with axle complete and ajusters its only done 1000 mls from new and its all mint i know the rim and spokes are the same part number as xs1 but on reading a old thread from 5twins who has done this mod it states the xs500 tx500 had a smaller swinging arm ??????

I believe it is 9 7/8 inches or 250mm.

thanks for info the axle i have from he tx500 comes out at 255mm thats from the top of the axle head to the end of thread so that makes it okay

I measured from the inside of the axle head.

in that case im 10mm short looks like i will have to find a new axle . again thanks for your help its info like this that makes this a great place cheers

I believe the xs has 2 different length axles. 70-73 are the same. 74-83 same but longer than the early axles.
