Ive been looking and cant find if anyone has done this or not yet.....but is it possible to take a xs400 front hub (drum brake from 18'' wheel) and lace it into a shouldered xs650 alum front rim (19") ?? Thanks and ill continue searching

Are they both 36 holes? If so getting the right spokes well be the thing. Try Buchannans. tell them the hub and the rim and they can tell you what spokes will work.

There'll be problems to overcome. The axle is smaller on the 400, Its a narrower wheel hub also. On the 400 left fork there's a bar that fits into a slot on the brake hub, missing on most 650 forks. Can't switch the fork either, its 33mm.

I switched forks, but I had to steal the steerer tube from a 650 lower tree & put it onto the 400 lower tree....wasn't all that bad.
