Yet another chop and Intro
Hello all. My name is Ryan and Ive been on here for about a year or so reading, chiming in every so often, reading, buying, reading, selling and well......Reading. Now of course in between all of this I have been building. A little here and a little there. This is my first mechanical/metal endeavor, so quite a bit of tools had to be bought and there was that learning curve thing. Was stalled for awhile when my son Sawyer was born but, now back on track. I stumbled into the 650 world by accident while searching for modifications for my 2006 Triumph Bonneville T100. How that happened I can't remember exactly but, 2 650s and an extra engine later......Well here I am. Before I begin I want to take a moment and express my gratitude to not just the members here but, the 650 world in general. The freely given wealth of knowledge and the sheer talent of its followers have made this experience quite simply the greatest, most frustrating, expensive and rewarding hobby I have ever had. I will also add that the ideas and direction of this build are slightly modified complete rip offs of yours Being a neat nick, I did'nt want to start a build thread from the start because lets be honest....That shit would take too long. I think I'm far enough along to not bore you. So without further ado.........
It begins with a 78SE. By all appearances, this bike was put together with a hammer, a #3 Phillips screwdriver, a monkey wrench and a spork. However, it kicked over on the first try on a very cold Dec morning (despite some black smoke) and it ran well enough. The bike did have some things going for it , wiesco 80mm pistons (Confirmed), pamco and dual brakes.
