I don't really have access to blasting it and the engine is already back in the bike those pictures were fairly old they're just what I could find without going out and taking any
I guess the engine I have doesn't look that bad but I would like to clean up either side of the crank case covers because I recently got a new stator cover but it's way shinier than the rest of the engine and wouldn't match well and I just wanna bring the crank case up to standard😂
I have a 74' xs650. I'm in the process of trying to restore and I was wondering what you old pros have to say as to the best way to go about bringing back the surface of the engine.
How do I tell what carburetor I have? I'm pretty sure I don't have the bs34 or the other bs carb but I cant seem to find the one I have. (not mine found on the internet)
I bought a 74' xs650 almost a year ago now and ever since I got it it's been missing the points cover and the alternator cover and im just wondering if any body has any decent condition parts that I could buy for pretty cheap. (This isn't my engine but these are the 2 covers I need) don't need...

So now that Ill (hopefully) soon have my bike running and ridable I'll be needing riding gear... What would you guys say is the best quality cost effective gear on the market... What are common issues with said gear?🤔 And what gear do I need? (Obviously helmet and gloves but any other stuff?)
So the right side is the side that seems to be flooding the carbs... I don't know what level of fuel is getting to the heads but the right side will fire a few times and then it just doesn't do anything after that and only cranks with the occasional little pop or sputter every couple...
