Once my Sparx cap arrives I'm hoping to test everything out. I've not fired the bike up since installing my HHB PMA. Looking forward to getting her back on the road.
Thanks retiredgentleman. I appreciate the response. I thought maybe some of the wires would need to be spliced together. Wasn't sure if this also would interrupt the kill switch. I've reviewed the wiring diagram in my service manual, but I'm a bit of a beginner and don't fully understand...
I've recently removed the electric starter on my 78 XS650SE. I've also unplugged the starter relay, and the safety relay. I want to delete both of these permanetly. My wiring harness is mostly stock and I'm not sure how to proceed with the wires in my harness that were connected to my starter...

Since my last reply I have rebuilt the carbs, and replaced the carb holders. Also had my local shop do a dynamic sync. The bike is running well now. Thank you all for your helpful comments.
I have a 78 XS650 Special with the mag wheels. I've just bought and rebuilt a set of wire wheels of the same year, 1978 and the front hub is missing all internal parts except the new sealed bearings and oil seals I bought from Mikes XS. I'm wondering if I can pull the parts from the mag hub...
Tried to run the bike last night without the air boxes to see if they were the culprit behind my loss of power but ran into a new symptom. The bike would start fine but would die shortly after starting. I could play with the idol to keep it running but as soon as I gave it gas it would die...
