It almost looks like it's just a rocker bolted through the existing axle plate with a shock mounted to the frame... Doesn't look like it would take a rocket scientist to figure out how to build it, just follow the same design as a springer basically.
And also, I added a top motormount, (a peice I forgot to make at the time) and that seemed to help some. She still vibrates more than a pornstar, but it's better now..
I do have to sync the carbs yet, I had them out yesterday to do the jets and noticed some pin holes in the diaphrams, but looked online to see if there was a way to fix that and used some plasticoat to seal up the holes...But yeah, I'll have to try to sync them if I can. As far as the ignition...
I just did the cam chain tension yesterday, the valves are set to spec, I put in a top mount today and it seemed to help some, but I'm thinking it's just more of a vibration thing.. Crap keeps shaking right off..
Should add, can't really tell where the rattle is coming from since it's only at certain speeds, it does seem like it's around the engine though.. Maybe I need a top motor mount?
Quick question, I built my chopper over the winter and just got around to getting it out and about, (had a lot of minor bugs, and the weather sucks in MN), I'm getting what sounds to be a rattle of sorts, and kind of a little heavier vibration right around the 55mph mark.. You guys think it's...
Yeah, it seems I'm always adjusting something, not a lot of wrenching anymore though after the rebuild, just tightening bolts that keep rattling loose, (the joys of a rigid twin I suppose).. The carbs are the last thing to give me issues, and have been the first as well.. I tried yelling at them...
Thanks, I just put in an order to Mikes for a new float, I figured since I was ordering jets anyways (have yet to change the mixture after making the exhaust) I might as well.I've had them apart roughly 4 times now and cleaned the hell out of them every time because it was doing this when I...
I did check the float level, it seemed fine.. I should also mention that when I bought the bike the cylinder with the messed up carb had a hole through the top of the piston, leaving me to believe that something was wrong with them prior as well. I did replace the seats and the o-rings, I bought...
I'm having the same issue, except I've read all the info I can find, thoroughly cleaned the carbs, replaced the float needles, made sure the floats moved freely and even checked to see if the floats sunk or bubbled in a tub of gas.. So I want to know if anyone has any other ideas as to what...
