Wow, you're right, I didn't know. Sorry for the misinformation. I just talked to my dad (who owned this before me) and he confirmed that these are not original miles but he does have the original speedo and is looking for it. I'll update this when I have the actual miles. My ignorance, my bad.

This survivor starts right up and runs great for cruising around town. Original miles will be updated here shortly. Always garaged.
Currently needs a carb tune for that perfect ride, but runs well regardless.
Asking 1,500 obo.
An abbreviated list of new parts and work put in over the...
This is a great post but the pics are broken! If you download the images and send them to me, I can put them on Imgur and then give you the new links...
Did this and it seemed to work for now! Still drags very slightly, but I can stop the wheel easy without much force from my foot. I found the info on here after lots of searching last night and tried it this morning. Lubed the cable all the way through with motor oil using a custom duct tape...
My dad replaced the actuator 15 or so years ago because the plastic part was cracked. I'm not sure what he replaced it with but it was working fine last time it was on the road. For worm travel are we talking about its rotation, or the amount it pushes in on the rod?
Hey guys, hoping you all can help me diagnose this and point me in the right direction.
I was about to go for a test ride today after doing a lot of wrenching/repairs over the last year, and I noticed the bike is creeping forward with the clutch in.
Some details:
- The bike sat for 10 years...
You're pretty much right. Turns out the shaft is .1 mm bigger than the holes. I talked to my dad and he suggested an adjustable reamer. So I ordered one of those and it's on the way. Thinning down the shaft isn't an option because it's such a nice fit in it's collar/sleeve whatever that part is...
Haha, yeah, I'm just now getting back to this thread! I got my hands on a micrometer and it appears that I need to shave of a tenth of a mm. So I ordered an adjustable reamer for about 13 bucks that goes from 15.25mm to 17mm, small enough to fit the hole with plenty of expansion. My plan is to...
Yeah but it's a very slight difference (not sure how minute since I don't have a micrometer). The old bolt fits through the holes in the frame perfectly, but is a little too loose inside the tube. The new one doesn't fit through the holes in the frame but fits snug in the tube. I'm wondering if...
Hi guys,
I got a new pivot bolt from Mike's for my '82 Heritage Special since the old one was beat up and slightly loose. The new bolt goes through the tube inside the swing arm perfectly, but does not want to fit through either side of the frame (bolt is too thick). I oiled it up and smacked...
Thanks for the tip. I think I've only got the 2 extra which came off my parts bike. But I'll double check the box of speedo parts I have. If I've got any more I'll give em to you next time I'm in Portland.
