Hi Pete, Thanks, you also helped me out when I first was setting this bike up. I did the above test again and found it wouldn't fire so I checked for spark by leaving the spark plugs in but removed the right hand side lead, then removed the cap and held the lead against the motor - great spark...

Hi, I have cleaned and checked the carbs but that was a little while ago so should look there next. I did think I would get some sort of bang by spraying ether/starter direct into the carbs though even if they do need anther clean etc?

I found it was the filament in the bulb - the lo beam had fried and connected to the hi beam filament. Thanks for the advice. Cheers
