I'm putting an XS1 engine in a customized 78 frame. It seems the hole does not quite line up with the engine. Does anybody make a front motor mount that will fit?
What I am thinking of doing is cutting out the section between the back bone and shock mounts. Then weld tubing back in following the angle of the back bone and using an old king queen seat from an old triumph chopper I had. Basically re-designing the rear of the bike. Maybe I have too much time...
Is the piece of metal that wraps around the back bone of the frame (where it curves down) necessary? It seems any hardtail kits I've seen say to leave it on. I'm doing my own fab work on my frame and would prefer to remove it.
