I know someone here rewinds them. I specifically want a used one that is not rewound and is in working condition.

What do you seal the coils with? Is the jb-weld for sealing the coils or just for at the top?

Prefer an original if someone has one.

I need 1981 or later XS650 rotor with the pickup magnet. The slip rings must ohm out good as well. I know there's some earlier years with the same part number. That's fine with me as well.

Just an update to this. The Honda MP08 coil worked just fine and solved the issue. Thanks a lot!

Yeah, I was just reading your thread a little bit ago. I'm gonna order one up and see how it performs. I do like that it has replaceable plug wires. The stock coil doesn't appear to have this. Hell, I mostly work on 70s Honda stuff and most of that is non-removable plugs too!

Is the MP08 a direct bolt on or do I have to fab some kind of bracket? They are cheap and plentiful, and allow replacement plug wires so this might be a good, cheap, reliable upgrade if there's not too much work involved on my end of things.
