1982 xs650 hardtail bobber SOLD SOLD 8/27/12.

I've got an 82 xs and I'm looking for a stock foot shifter, with the tightening bolt of course. I overtightened mine and stripped it out so the bolt now just spins freely.

Well, awesome use of the stock mount. Not to threadjack, but is the stock mount for the rect/reg normAlly located on the backbone?

Awesome thread, I'm just now seeing it. I notice you mounted your rectifier, regulator sideways on the backbone of the frame. Did you use existing mounts or did you drill and tap the frame?

Ok cool....So do normal key switches have a 12v built into them? And if I was to connect the loose wires to the battery (just to test it), which terminal?

Hi all, I'm trying to wire up my xs650. It's a 1982 xs with TCI ignition, and I'm only running a headlight and brake light. Kick start too. So it should be really basic wiring. So I've hooked up the charging harness and the ignition harness. I haven't yet even messed with splicing in...

Yeah you're right. It's just a high tension part and I worry it'll break under constant stress.
