Right now I'm in the process of rebuilding my 650 and one thing I noticed is the gauge faces are faded to hell. I've looked on ebay and a few other places and I can't find any speedo faces that only go to 85 all the ones i've found go to 140. So, my question is, where can I find new faces for...

I think I found the problem, I was checking the ignition timing with a light and the right side has inconsistent spark

Not a whole lot, i've cleaned the rings and just changed the exhaust gaskets and welded a few holes in the pipe. Its running better but it sounds like its misfiring.

I though the carbs last week and put new needle & seats in it. And how would I test the box?

the bike is a '81 with cdi ignition

I was riding my bike home from work today and my bike was running like crap (and yes the choke was off) but after I got 3/4 the way home it was running a little better. But when it was running like crap I thought for sure that it was misfiring.

I was changing my oil the other day in my bike when i noticed it had BOTH a dipstick and a eyeglass. So, my question is what one do i go off? I found somewhere on here that the bike takes 2.1 quarts. So, I put 2 quarts in it and it was way over on the dipstick but not visible on the eyeglass.

Hi, I just bought this 1981 xs650hs (first bike) and after getting it running it makes this loud popping noise. I have taken in account that the exhaust seals are bad and there's a small hole in the left muffler. I believe its misfiring, but when I took it on a small ride and it ran nicely...
