    Ignition Timing with xscharge kit

So I Emailed MikesXS originally about the build quality of the units, where the wires coming out of the unit were soldered to the wrong outputs on the board (Green on black/ black on green). I re-read this email and they mentioned they never had a problem like that, but they have run into...

    Ignition Timing with xscharge kit

So I just got around to checking the cams now, at TDC the alignment pin on the advance side is straight down (see Pic). I don't see a notch on the cam facing straight up. I have not checked the tensioner yet, but I'm about to do that. Edit: the tensioner is within spec according to the mikesXS...

    Ignition Timing with xscharge kit

The Bike was running before but was misfiring due to the electrics being all messed up. The bike runs, It is struggling to idle (1200rpm) because the ignition is advanced all the way, but I cant retard it anymore. Carbs were rebuilt and synched earlier this summer and I don't think this is a...

    Ignition Timing with xscharge kit

I created a post a while ago about how me xscharge kit wasn't giving any spark. With that problem solved I moved on to getting the bike running. I found the fuel lines leaking, and after I pulled the airbox to replace the lines I found that the shop the previous owner used, spliced in a...

    XS Charge Ignition, No spark.

I found my problem, Black and Green wires were reversed on the circuit board when the plate was soldered. I swapped them back, Bike is sparking now. Previous owner used vinyl tubing for fuel line and they're now cracked and leaking. So that is the new task.

    XS Charge Ignition, No spark.

I just tried powering the coil straight from the battery. still no spark. I'm going to test the coil again, but I think something might be wrong with the trigger plate. Still also looking for the electrical gremlin stealing my power.

    XS Charge Ignition, No spark.

That link is the kit I have. The bike is completely stock other than the XS Charge kit. From what I've read the xs kit is a copy of the Pamco ignition. The voltage is consistently low, from main switch to fuse to kill switch to coil. all within .2 volts of each other. From what I read the...

    XS Charge Ignition, No spark.

This is my first post on this forum, but I have been looking at a bunch of other threads for ideas. But haven't really come across anything that matches my problems. So, I picked up a 1979 special. When I got the bike it ran, but rough, it sounded like an ignition problem and I decided to...
