    Pulled the top of the left side 2motor mount and flipped it, moved it to the right side, and used it to pull the engine. Just cleared the backbone and wiggle the engine out.

    Yea, the 3 foot length of wire made from 3 different colors convinced me to just start over and order a new harness. It's cheaper to just buy a new harness than to build one.

    Yea, those shocks gotta go. The underside of the fender shows scrubbing and definitely contributed to the wiring problems. The handlebars are to narrow to fit the the controls, and tons of loose bolts and nuts. Shaping up to be a project full of surprises.

    I'm not trying to be a jerk but, you stated that the sides were within .001 thou. And the center was was at .1mm. That's apples to oranges, .1 mm comes in at about .003" Not what you want, but could be a source of confusion. Try using just one measurement standard. That said, .003 runout...

    Yup, new just saying hello.

    I'm new to the neighborhood here. Decided it's time to check an XS 650 off my bucket list. I've been enamoured with them since the first time I saw one. So, I'm looking around, seeing whats out there, and trying to learn as much as I can about them. I hope you don't mind a little brain picking...
