I do love the idea. But lets unearth and wade thru the spaghetti. The bike tho 12K miles on it is fairly in good condition. No rust anywhere even the stator/rotors were clean. We'll find out.

The petcock was replaced twice so I believe it is and also no problems starting the bike. starts in a single kick. Okay, I'll do this and keep you all posted.

Should you not be emptying the tank at some point ?. I have very minimal fuel , its in reserve RN I did'nt know pays came with their own grading system but maybe another thread on this another time ;)

I need to start rewiring , I have gotten some spare wires, bolts and connectors . First things I have to remove the tank. I have single petcock , could you please tell me the steps do this and then I'll post some pictures of my wiring. @jpdevol , @Jim , @robtattoo , @Kevin Werner , @Jan_P .

The running charge on the battery is consistent at 13.0 so I am not certain that the charging system isn't working or I'll run outta charge. I just think the wiring is crappy which is affecting the efficacy of the charging system.

Plugging in back and revving gives 13.5. At idle battery is stable between what ever battery charge is. There is no drain or loss on the battery. I do have the original reg/rec combo so I will consult before I do anything. Wiring is next . I will be starting a separate thread on that. So...

I did that , just keeping the Main and Ignition alone is still giving me 13.6 . Putting back the neutral fuse creates no problem. Is there a way to check the regulator , cause bypassing the regulator I got 15 - 16 ?
