    frustrated by my clutch

    Iv'e replaced the lever, cable, actuation mechanism, rod, balls and clutch, it feels great and when cover was off there was movement when lever was pulled. as for lining up the pressure plate mine has no marks or holes, i'm going to order a set of alum head screws so i can torque them correctly...

    ive got a 73 TX650, ive replaced the entire clutch from lever to plates but still have the same problem of the the clutch not disengaging when the lever is pulled, i read a thread a while ago that if you over tighten the screws over the clutch springs that this can effect clutch movement...

    Hi Guys Solved my clutch problem, i replaced each component starting at the clutch lever, cable but turned out changing the actuator worm was what solved it, i purchased a MikesXS one with the slightly longer arm and bingo smooth clutch that actually works. Cheers Ray

    Hi Guys, I've got the old locked up front brake problem on my 73 TX650, i took the caliper apart today after reading a thread about the same issue, however my caliper dosn't have the floating design, it appears that only the pistons move, how do i get them out ? Cheers :banghead:

    Thanks Twomany for the pics, the wear on that rod is not exagerated compared to mine, in the diagram whats between the adjuster and the rod is that the ball fitted into worm gear. cheers Ray :)

    Hi Guys, i have recently acquired a 73 TX650 and the clutch is the same now having had over 30 bikes in the 70s when i was a teen i know this is not the norm, also the clutch isn't working properly as it stalls when you try and shift it into gear even when freshly adjusted as per manual specs...
