Opened Valves -- Found a Squirrel Present

I think that's making the most sense now. Dang, I gotta go home and cover my other bikes exhaust now and inlet now. I guess I have mice.

Opened Valves -- Found a Squirrel Present

Yeah my apologies, should have searched on the valve pictures, I knew it'd be around. As far as your mouse hypothesis, it was on the exhaust valve so how would it get over there? I did have my exhaust off at different times during the year, maybe it happened then? I do agree, it must have been...

Opened Valves -- Found a Squirrel Present

I guarantee this is a new one... Finally got my valve spring compressor in the mail and went to town taking the valve springs and plungers off. Everything was going swimmingly, I have to say the valve spring compressor was a fantastic purchase. So I get to the exhaust valve on the right hand...

Done goofed, tipped bike and now oil shoots from the exhaust

I got the breather off and cleaned out, everything is back together but now I have a problem. #13 and #15 from the cylinder head retorque snapped off when taking them out. They're extremely difficult to extract, trying to figure that out now before I can even do a proper compression/leakdown...

Done goofed, tipped bike and now oil shoots from the exhaust

Fred -- Sounds like a plan, for reference I should take off the cover (#14) in this diagram? http://www.yamahapartshouse.com/oemparts/a/yam/50042091f8700209bc786efb/cylinder-head I have the hose end opened up, nothing in there but maybe towards the actual cover it's blocked? I got 13 bolts...

Done goofed, tipped bike and now oil shoots from the exhaust

The breather as in the hose that previously ran to the air box, right ? I need to get brake check valves for the ends of those for sure.

Done goofed, tipped bike and now oil shoots from the exhaust

Left side drop, hard enough to break the clutch lever but no other exterior damage, was at a dead stop in my driveway. That's a great suggestion though thank you I will try a retorque before I do anything else, here's hoping

Done goofed, tipped bike and now oil shoots from the exhaust

Scabber - I'll do that before I compression test, thanks

Done goofed, tipped bike and now oil shoots from the exhaust

Fred, Thinking this might just be a coincidence then and I blew a ring in there somewhere. I laid her down for less than 20 seconds, immediately picked it back up. Gonna drain and refill and do a compression check when I get it back together. I just this past week got all my leaks plugged...

Done goofed, tipped bike and now oil shoots from the exhaust

Fredintoon -- I wish I was mistaken... Straight oil from the pipes AND smoke, enough to drench the right side of my rear tire. Checked oil level again after the 2-hour ride and it dropped significantly, below minimum threshold. Here's my thinking: after tipping the bike, a lot of the oil jumped...

Done goofed, tipped bike and now oil shoots from the exhaust

Is bumping allowed here? Desperate for help, thanks

Done goofed, tipped bike and now oil shoots from the exhaust

Edited for brevity: I tipped my bike over two days ago and since then it has been spewing white smoke and now oil from the exhaust. Prior to that it was running perfectly, no leaks, no smoke, nothing. Checked oil level after tipping and it had lost a bit, so I refilled. Guessing that oil went...

    Trans Am Trail Bike Build.

Nice build Demoralizer, few questions for you. First of all, when you swapped to the R6 front end, did you have to modify anything else besides triple trees? Otherwise, what clutch/brake levers are you using?

The Stovetop Scrambler: 1974 tx650 Scrambler Rebuild

Tron, I have been following your build since before it was the Stovetop and I gotta say you do great work. What fuse panel are you running? Have you thought about something like the M-Unit?

Building a Scrambler, help a newb with some suggestions!

Sweet setup man, that looks like a bike that is meant for riding. Should I stay over 14" with knobs on?

Building a Scrambler, help a newb with some suggestions!

Thanks Growl, extremely helpful. I was wondering if you had any preference between the group? I am leaning towards the Vee's for price/tubeless but I might just dish out a little extra for the Bridgestones, only problem with this is I like the idea of being able to plug any popped tires + I have...

Building a Scrambler, help a newb with some suggestions!

What's up guys and gals, bought myself an 81' Xs650 Special II and was originally planning on doing a cafe-style build but my motoX roots have overcome and I've decided to go dual-sport. I want to build a scrambler/tracker with a street-priority that I can still take trailing, nothing too...

    First bike and build

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, I will definitely keep yall posted on my build progress, haven't done much because it is frigid up here in CT! I'll be bringing the bike to the mechanic next week to get a full tune-up make sure I'm not going to kill myself on a bike that's falling apart, but...

    First bike and build

Hey guys and gals, Just bought myself my first motorcycle, it's been a childhood dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I got the 80' Special II, regretted the mag wheels but it'll do for starting. I picked it up from a nice chap up in Queens for only $800 which is great considering the...
