ever figure this out? I'm having the same problem, but i went to 15pilot and 130main, its calmed down a bit but still have erratic over-revving.

ive messed with the float height a bunch, ill try again tomorrow. i should set them lower right? to lean it

no vacuum lines with this set up and i sprayed carb cleaner all over checking for intake leaks, found none

81 xs650 Got it running with 190main 25pilot air jet out, but it was way rich and wanted to accelerate off the throttle, i rode it one day it ran okay, then didnt touch it for a week, then it wouldnt idle below 3000ish rpms. found the pilot was clogged even though the carb was completely...

Could be your voltage regulator, I've seen a few that when they blow, they ground out inside, blow the main fuse.

thanks everybody, i am planning on using a small 12v 8amp battery, I already have the boyer ignition so im just going to try that out. might try out the pamco setup if i have any problems.

In punkskalers thread on chopcult he says you have to switch to points or pamcopete setup. Does the Boyer Bransden ignition not work with this? Whats the difference in the pamco pete ignition? Thanks

Get a wiring diagram and follow the wiring from each thing you want to get rid of one at a time to make sure you're not cutting out anything important. Start cuttin, and solder and shrink wrap where needed. Not as hard as it is overwhelming looking at all of it.

Ive got a new project, an 81 xs650 bobber. I pulled out the oil filter and there is plastic shavings all over it, I guess thats the cam chain tensioner. In my manual it says just to remove the cover on the back side of the engine and pull it out, but only the spring and rod can come out that...

i actually just used Rustoleum truck bed liner spray paint on my triple trees, fork legs, and "oil tank" and I really like the way it came out.
