From what i've read when one cylinder is tdc on the compression stroke the other should be at tdc on the exhaust stroke. on mine the exhause valve is not open at all at tdc. I reckon i'll be...

    just put my motor back together. when the pistons are at tdc the cam tdc indicate is at like 12:15 when it is supposed to be at twelve. does this mean im a tooth off on the cam sprocket or what?

    Very carefully. I got the chain through, had to make a chain riveter and finally got the technique down, right as I ran out of light. Looks like I can finish this up tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

    Woo! just check my compression 155 and 158. i was impressed. now to order a gasket kit, guide, and chain. If only I didn't have to wait till fall break to do all this work

    Soo i should just need the head gasket, not the whole gasket set, unless i break the base gasket seal? I'm about do a compression test to see if the little chunks have been causin and trouble in the cylinder. I drove it about 25 miles home and it ran real strong, but better safe than sorry.

    Easy-Out sheared off in bolt... am I screwed?

    yeah first try to weld a nut to it. Another option is take it to a machine shop that has carbide bits, it can cut through that hardened steel, well in theory. I took my moped cylinder, that i broke an easy out in, to the machine shop and it just kept kicking out even the carbide bit.
