yo pete or hugh (or anyone else) got my bike running finally. fresh rebuilt basket motor with hughes banshee swap pma (disconnected till i get timing right) and pamco with e advance. i dialed in the idle advance at "fire" on the hughes sticker, but the advancer doesnt take the timing mark all...

Stock airbox for now - gotta get the bike running before I begin to mod it! Yes I have both sets of carb holders. The ones off the '80 bs38's are pretty cracked though...

Filled heads with gas they hold it fine.. No longer have access to vacuum tester unfortunately but they each pulled over 24 in hg before the bolt was dropped in there... I think (hope) everything is okay because the defect is on the non sealing bottom surface of the valve
