Any ideas?
Thanks again!

Okay I got in there and put the 'nipple' in the right place, loosened everything up and bounced it around. I turned the tubes, i do not believe they are bent. Still not rebounding.
On the dampening rod there is a redish seal near the crown... It was cracked on one of the rods - would that...
I was worried about that binding, and I did loosen everything up - ill try some rotating and axle spacing.
Chizler - I did put the preload spacer on top of the spring... but im pretty sure i put that little washer ( the one that has an inner flange like a nipple ? ) somewhere else... maybe near...

Thanks! This is a can of "Ivory" Krylon, just to get the feel.. I was inspired by this Norton here http://www.bratstyle.it/norton-commando-850-tracker-eng.html
Hey Folks,
I am just about to wire up this beast http://www.xs650.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39854 and am looking for some feedback on my diagram.
A bit of background: This is a 1977 XS650D. Batteryless, kick only. I have installed a HHB PMA system, and a Sparx Capacitor. I am running the...
Well I am about a month into this project and reckon its time to check in...
Since my last post I have been mostly scrubbing ancient grease off parts, getting trigger happy with the bead blaster, shooting sparks @ my old man with the angle grinder, and selling my soul to every motorcycle part...
Status Update:
Well we got the bike stripped down to a frame and box of parts... exciting and daunting at the same time. Spend the last day getting the frame prepped for paint and evaluating the condition of crusty old rubber parts that will need replacing...
Have any of you seen oil...
Hey Skull thanks for your opinion...
I'm not planning to run large muffler that will need a hanger back there.
As for the passenger foot rest position -- thats what I'm asking about, has it been done and how did it work.
I appreciate the concern with my process, but my circumstance is what it is.
I am lightening my load and getting excited with the cutting torch... I am thinking about removing my passenger foot peg hoops/brackets and relocating the passenger peg to (somewhere).
And ideas, or pictures of relocated pegs?
I was thinking about mounting it off of the rear bolt of the...
Hi Folks
I just picked up my first bike ever. You could call it a barn score (minus the barn), A 1977 xs650d! The owner didn't have much memory as to the bikes running conditions, where its keys were, or why he hadn't ridden it since 1988 (a year after I was born)... but the price was right...
