I didn't pull off the rotor as I do not have the tool yet, so I'm not sure.

I did that when I changed the seal, but perhaps it's worth a re-tighten.

It's to be expected. I gave the pushrod seal a go, which wasn't too bad, so let's hope this job is a little more simpler and it's just the brushes. The old owner took pretty good care of the bike, so I'm hoping the other components are still good. Thanks again you guys!
