    Rat Bike?

Kinda reminds me of a buddies bike. This was his DD for a couple years. Rode it from Dallas Texas to Oregon last summer.

    Hardtail welding??

I was gonna ask the same thing. I think it might mean to drill holes in the frame where the slug enters then weld the holes. That way the slug is welded to the frame.

    Rat Bike?

"I used to be into Hot rods and muscle cars but It got too tiring to wash and wax and clean my ride to go to a show then miss out of a trophy because of some Doctor or Lawyer who paid someone to build and maintain their car" "He asks me one day to build him a rat bike to put in the back for...

Sweet man. Whats the length on a 2 under springer? 2 under is what most use, right?

Oh, also going to rebuild the engine. I peeked inside the right side intake rocker cover and it looked fresh but for peace of mind, I'm going to rebuild it. The previous owner bought a pamco ignition, so that's out of the way. Probably do the 750 big bore kit and a performace cam.

elswick hardtail, 6* in the neck, springer front end. I like the look of Indian Larry dished tanks but don't like how they sit on top of the frame. I'm thinking about getting a king sportster and cutting the sides of and flipping them. Do you think a +4 springer would work with 6* in the neck?

Lacing different rim sizes to a hub and other suspension questions!

I think ghetto wanted to know if he could buy a bigger rim and spokes and have them laced to his stock hub. I sent the stock hubs off my vstar 650 to buchanans spoke and rim and had them lace a 21" x 2.15" rim to the front hub and a 18" x 5.5" rim to the rear.

It's not really a problem. Just something you have to get used to. I can't do figure 8's in a parking lot or anything but turning isn't a problem.

Why 4" stretch in the hardtail?

    Ya, it does look good.

What to do??? The frustration finally sets in

I had a similar problem on an intruder 750. There were a couple of problems. One, the carbs were way out of sync. For some reason that bike ran like shit when they were out of sync. My 650 vstar didn't. Another problem, was the enricher valve was stuck in place. Pulled both of them out and...

Yeah, the backbone goes all the way to the neck. No worries Teebs. I just ran out and took this picture. It's from farther back so you can see the downtubes. And yes, I know I need to cover the ugly frame sticker. Lol

The triangle peice. Not sure what you call it, actually cradles the neck. It wraps around both sides and almost meets in the middle in the front.

Exactly. Here is what it looked like before I moved it out 6*. You can see the downtubes and how they follow upward and meet the backbone. Edit.. well they don't meet the backbone. You can see they stop right below my cut.
