Well sorry to revive an old thread, but I'm actually having a hard time figuring out how it all goes together. I have an andrews 3.0 ohm dual output coil, the pamco ignition, and an e-advancer, but no idea how to put it all together.

So how do you wire in the dual output? Also did you have to make new spark plug wires? And if so from where? Sorry, I'm just not good with electrical

I got that coil and I was lookong at it, where do you mount yours?

Well guys, I was on my lunch break today, and my coworkers and i make a hobby of getting each other to spend a lot of money on car/motorcycle parts... So long story short i spent the $250 and my new electronic ignition/advance and dual output coil is on the way

Where do you get the Harley coils from? And what model Harley do they come from?

Haha yes I do seem to have the elimination part handled. Now I was considering the pamco but I also kinda wanted to hang onto the mechanical advance/points system because it seems like everyone drops it first thing. Not quite sure why I want to keep that original when I want to build my top end...

Well, thank you for the tip. I took my advance cover off, and to my suprise the mechanism had grenaded itself.

My points are in time with the valves and pistons, could the advance unit be off separately from that?

Just checked, both sides have plenty of fuel

Should I just jump ship and swap over top electronic ignition or would that help at all?

How would I test to find out if I had an electrical problem other thanchecking for spark at the cable and at the plug?

I just checked my timing and checked my point clearance and that's all good. And I'm getting a good spark on both plugs. But I guess Im just confused that both of my carbs would go out at the same time with no warning, is that something that happens?

Also apparently I had ano auto correct error before, she had been running beautiful before dying on me.

Hey so an update here, my coils are all good and getting spark. Any thought in why it would suddenly die on me? Thanks again!

All my electric is working, it cranks with both the e-start and kick. It's all stock ignition, carbs and all that. She'doesn't been running fantastic until she didn't run at all.

Hey guys, I was riding my XS home from school, when it suddenly just lost all power and throttle. As soon as I got to the side of the road and stopped, the engine died and I have been unable to get it to start since. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this and what I should do...

Also do you know if any good calipers and rotors that would work fairly well for upgrading that?
