    Re-Bush for BS34?

Before I got the bike it lived in central Utah. High desert climate. Also cold/hot dry and dusty. The guy I bought the bike from gave me a ton of spare parts. In there was another set of BS34's. I thought they might be better. They looked newer, but also leaked around the shafts. I've fattened...

    Re-Bush for BS34?

I have searched and searched. Can't find any thing. Does anybody know of a shop or somebody that installs new bushings in BS34 carbs? The carb body is worn and new seals aren't fixing the air leak on the butterfly valve shaft. Seems like the carb body could be saved if some bronze bushings were...

    RMATVMC

Has anyone ordered parts from Rocky Mountain ATV & MC? They show a lot of OEM xs650 parts as available. Some have a long lead time. 7-10 days. I'm wondering if they (the long lead time parts) are really OEM. They have other xs650 OEM parts in stock that ship right away. I've had good service...

Low Idle Speed After High Speed Ride

Floats were set with a clear tube, they are pretty much spot on. Thanks for the tips. I'll play around with it some more, and I have some Mikuni jets on order. See if fattening it up a bit will help. Good to kinda confirm my suspicions of a lean condition. Thx!

Low Idle Speed After High Speed Ride

Yes I was referring to the mixture screws. I did set the mixture screws at 3 turns out initially, but the idle didn't change much in speed or smoothness until I got them set at 1 turn out. I am riding at a little above 3000ft in elevation. Do you think the behavior I describe is too lean an...

Low Idle Speed After High Speed Ride

Just cleaned and rebuilt carbs on 1980 xs650sg. All standard size jets. Man this thing runs so much better! I synced and adjusted pilots. They ended up about 1 turn out for best idle. About 1200-1300rpm ish. Took it out for a ride. Perfect around town. Got out on the freeway for a few miles at...

    Shaft Seal Part Numbers

I'm replacing the butterfly shaft seals on a pair of BS34's. I've received the McMaster Carr seals 6540K121. They seem to rotate in the bore of the carb. I've also got the Yamaha seals 256-14997-00-00 on order. I found the Suzuki part numbers here 13651-51010. When I looked for them online I...

    Forum decline

The collective knowledge here is huge. I mean like the Library of Congress huge. So much of the advice given on FB is just plain incorrect and totally wrong. This thread has inspired me. I'm gonna make a donation here, right now! Rock on XS650.COM !
