    Engine heating up and shutting down

    So the bike rides fine and idles fine for a long time. But after just riding for a like 10 miles it shuts down . I have to wait for it to cool down and then start it. This is rinse and repeat. What gives ?

    Fuel Petcock - PRI

    If the bike has been sitting for a while lets say over night or longer and then when I start in half a mile. I have to turn the Fuel to PRI and leave it for a couple of miles and then turn it to ON for it to run without dying. is this normal ? This is an 81 XS650
