    650 engine in xs500 Frame?

    I figured I should just stick with the xs650 frame. The xs500 frame fits me better in hight and it's nice and skinny, too bad the 500 engine doesn't interest me like the 650 does. Posted via Mobile

    They usually go higher so your toe clears the exhaust pipes. There are pipes that go under the engine that fix that problem.

    I hope they restore it. I should have left my 73 alone and not rephased it. I run into a problem every time I want parts for it. No rearsets, stainless exhaust doesn't fit quite right. Short swing arm, can't swap on a newer tank, the list goes on.

    My bike projects are the WLA Harley, a 175 Benelli, and two xs's. One of the XS's has a rephase and the motor has just been buttoned up but I'm stalled on the the clutch. I've ridden the Harley though so at least I managed to get one together.

    I just measured the neck and they are the same on the xs500 and xs650. So the fork swap would work, but looking closer, the width of the forks is only 1/2 inch narrower and the top triple tree on the 500 is pretty ugly. I don't know if it's worth it.     Thanks for the offer gggGary but they're XS500 rims. they are quite a bit narrower than 650 rims. My plan was to swap the narrow triple trees, forks and rim to the 650 for a skinny look. Its still at the idea stage, I haven't measured the neck to see how feasable it is.

    I just picked up a little Benelli/Wards Riverside 175. The piston is stuck and the crank is crunchy when i turn it. It will lift the barrel out of the block but the piston is really siezed. I can't find a replacement piston or bearings anywhere. What do shops do in this case? Cross reference...
