Ok, so I was having trouble with my charging system... Found out the 3 yellow wires got cut by the rotor sometime during the past couple weeks. Could this have done damage to my reg/ rect? I connected the wires and taped them up but still no charge.

bought a starter solenoid from mikes xs... has a yellow/red wire and green/ red wire coming out... im guessing the green is ground and the yellow will go to my starter button...??? am i right? thanks
