OLD SCHOOL Fender Stays

Anyone got any ideas or tried to use Fender Stays on the front fender like the old scramblers. Any company's that you know of that make them. Need them for a project XS650 and want to see if anyone has any ideas before I just make them. All your older bikes used them.
