yoshmiura exhaust can

Thanks for the help i understand its a period yoshi can to a custom header. I have been searching for the can for awhile looking on ebay and searching to find out what they were made for. I figured if some one knew what they were orignaly for it may make the search easier.

If anyone knows where i can get a good condicion can like this too that would be a big help.

I got to tell you after seeing this I couldn't stop looking, I even went through a translated French archive page just looking for the word Yoshimura. Man...this exhaust has me looking everywhere. I've found them on an 86 vf1000r a 82 gpz1100 a 72 cb750 and some GSXRs. Apparently a version called Cyclone was made in the late 80's.

These are some nice finds the last pic is a great can the ebay find is tempting i will have to look into reconditioning the can give it some new life.

That looks similar to the one you were looking for, the gap from the end to the yoshi plaque is a bit longer. I think it's the same as the one I posted a link for. You might want to find out how long the can itself is.
I believe that the rivets towards the header can be drilled out and the whole aluminum case slides off the end of the pipe with the baffling wrapped underneath. (not sure)
I've seen similar ones done that way.

i just received the exhaust its off a 1986 kawasaki it has one dent other than that its an amazing looking can. i found an amazing powder coating company here http://www.crosslinc.biz/index.php he has a motorcycle guru and body guy who can fix the dent in the can and they will recondition the can i have with a media blasting or brushed look and high temp clear coating. they are confident they can do it and they have quick response times too i love their work too
here on fb they have many good pics of their work https://www.facebook.com/CrossLinc

the sleeve slides off its on with allen bolts. i bought a mac system and going to have my cousin help fab up the mounting and custom adaption since he owns a muffler and welding shop should be a unique exhaust system when done
