Just joined this forum - HEY ALL! - I'd like to share my newest build with ya...
I build a few bikes a year as time allows...

So just finishing up this bobber build.
Is a 1980.
Bought as a frame and engine basket case.

All the work was done by me, fabrication, welding, painting etc....
These are only a handful of the build pics.
I'll post more when i get the bike 100% finished.

The next xs bobber has already begun....

Frame the way i got it...

Nice job. Wecome to the forum. I do have concerns about the angle of that seat shock though. Looks more like it would pivot than compress.

seat shock works actually better this angle than straight up and down.
The way i made my seat mount doesn't allow for any "pivot" it is actually working like a lever, so it takes less to make the shock work. So results in a nice ride instead of a bouncy ride.

thanks though.
:wink2:

"All fabrication by me"

-TC Bros Hardtail.

hmmm. Looks like a pre-fabbed fake oil tank and bat box too. Just sayin'

I like everything except the exhaust but it's not my bike so it doesn't matter!

Yeah, and Yamaha made the motor. I think he was implying that he did all his own work, not everything was handmade.

Nice bike. I love that tank, think I might look into one- any specs on it?

Post up some close ups on the mid control setup- looks very clean.

Welcome.

very nice.

i have a question on the chain idler. i thought they needed to be munted under the lower outbound section of chain to be effective no?

still very nice build and it's nice to see a different style tank

Yes this is what i meant. I didn't make all the parts obviously - bottom line is i didn't "pay someone else to build my bike", and yes there was allot of custom fabrication on this bike aside from the hardtail.

Mid controls - i used the idea from a post i found, as i had a pile of stock XS parts to work with, i think it is this one

This one is not actually a tensioner...
But the idea is that if the chain starts to bounce it will hit the wheel instead of my oil can... (which happened on another bike i did). There is nothing for the chain to hit on the bottom so no worries.

I'm only teasing anyways.

What brake setup is that? Is that a 2 Under with a 19" wheel?

How does it ride? I am thinking of doing a DNA 2 Under with a 21"

Its a DNA 2" under with a 21" 60 spoke billet hub wheel.

There was an old 19" wheel in some of the older pics just to roll it around before the new wheel showed up. Its also a DNA front brake setup from Outlaw Cycle.

Wow, what a great looking machine. I'm chomping at the bit to get my first project underway. Looks to me (being a rookie) that a lot of the parts are new. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of ballpark figure did the whole project set you back? Around central Florida where I'm from I have my pick of buying rundown bikes that haven't run in years or bikes that have been used as daily drivers and some where a project has been started but not finished. I'm not sure which route to take. I've seen prices from a few hundred bucks up to a truly good looking and running bike for $5k. I'm just feeling out options and seeing where I should start. Thanks.
