Dakota tracker

I just got my swing arm and front wheel back from the sand/soda blaster. Time to fire up the polishing wheel for a two to three hour polishing session. I will do some fitting on the swing arm and then off to the powder coater.

I shaved my forks a few weekends ago but didnt get a chance to do any sanding and polishing until tonight after work. I only got one done but it turned out shiny enough for me. Its not show quality but for a driver it will be just fine.

Got my goodyear racing tires mounted yesterday. I put a 27x7x19 on the front. Im going to make the 25.5x7.7x19 work on the rear come hell or high water. I put the tire in the swing arm and its close but it sure looks like its going to fit, if it doesnt I have a grinder and a welder.

I bonded my taillight to the bottom of my fender last night. iI found the L.E.D. taillight and bracket at my local yamaha shop, I used vet panel adhesive to glue the bracket to the bottom of the fender and will glass over the bracket later. I wanted something bright but wanted it to not stand out like a sore thumb.

Just put my wheels back on this afternoon, man i'm so stoaked on the way it looks. It does look like I have a bit of a problem though, I took off the left side cover and it has a major oil leak. The whole inside of the cover is caked with a 1/4" of grease(any idea of whats leaking Sprocket or shifter seal?)

nice tracker. I like the tires. what is a 25.5x7.7x19 race tire compared to a 110x90x19 standard street tire?
I have an rd400 18" wheel that measures the same width as a stock front mag (1.85).. I was wondering how wide i could go.

Clean all the crap of the inside of the cover and run it for a while - the leak will be easy to see then. It could be 20 years of chain lube build uo too.

hotdog, I think my leak is probably the counter shaft seal. I'm putting a new front sprocket on so I was thinking I should replace the seal while things are taken apart that far.

Sure, Do the seal while your in there - I just put it back together without cleaning it up first.

The 19'' wheels i run are not a bolt on set up you have to make new carriers for rotors and sprocket.
I bought the omars kit since I'm not a machinest. I do have a lathe but I'll be the first to admit that I dont know how to use it. I've turned small parts that dont have to be spot on. We have a tech school that has a machinest adult ed. class that I need to take.
