What have you done to your XS today?

We ran the shit out of them today. :D We got lucky and it was about 50 deg here. So we let some little ponies out LOL. Nothing better then 2 XS's cranking 9k R's LOL. Im thinking I need to shim the clutch springs, or put some HD's in. 2nd gear up, this thing just laughs at the clutch. hhahaha

Finished stripping all the rattle can paint off last weekend and found quite a few bumps and bruises. Decided to go with it and go for the distressed look. My Dad passed away just before X-mas, that's his birthdate and initials on the side. I used Rustoleum camo. Going to "rough up" a bit more exposing a bit more of the white primer before I clear coat.

Received my ebay rephased cam in the mail, looks good, now have to get going on a crank to be rephased.

Tank looks good .
Also it's good to see the respect You are showing your Dad.

Make sure you get the crank rephrased in the same direction as the cam

I had a broken ground wire to the headlight, fixed that.
Cleaned her up.
Took a ride over to Cape Coral bike night.
I got there about a half hour before sunset.

Torqued the nuts on the drive sprocket and Alternator rotor. Mounted the carbs(took a bit of re-learing how to do that) and stock air filters. Got the grips, clutch lever assy and throttle mounted and connected and adjusted. Not too much longer and I'll be in a position to try and start 'er up. Make a few more wire connections and fuel tank sorted out.

made some baffles for my straight through pipes,to help with back pressure/and noise

I went from a running unfinished bike to a pile of parts yesterday. I tore it down to finish powder coating the frame.

What have you done to your XS today?
Today I gave her a wash
then got out the carnauba wax and waxed her.
lubed the drive chain
checked oil
ordered a new front master cylinder that looks retro instead of the modern one I have now. It will look much better and work well too.

got any pics ? ive been looking for such thing for a while something like the early style i have but 13mm instead of 5/8

yeah i do have that frame up for sale. im too busy for a full on build, but i have to build....so i am doing a minor build, but its growing as i go. this is a hard tail rather than a plunger. i was going to build a leafer for the plunger and had other plans too, but this will a much smaller project. gotta ride.

Also tried to instal top mount and rear. Rears didn't line up for shit. So I just used 2 bolts. And top was not wanting to go either. So just installed one side only. Something is better than nothing. If it lessens vibes a bit I will be happy. That shifter is titties!!!!

picked up my bike from my buddy's shop. He did a bunch of work with my vision in mind of a still fairly stock looking bike with some custom work to make it a bit more badass. Here's what we did...
-cut rear hoop and moved it up to the rear suspension to shorten the frame
-cut out the middle section of the stock fender, welded it back together
-custom sissy bar
-34 Ford style taillight on custom plate/light bracket
-shaved a bunch of unnecessary shit off the frame

Next up, king/queen seat and upswept cocktail-shaker pipes.
