Are you using reenforce denium britches?
What do you think of them?
I doubt I'm going to spend $2-300 dollars for a pair but I'd like to know the options.

I have two pairs of Sliders. True to size. I like 'em. I'll get more when they're holey. What more can I say? Not crash tested and I'd like to keep it that way.

He he yeah Marty. A fit and wear comfort and would you buy again is fine. But if someone already has tried to wear a hole in them . . . .do tell if they saved hide.
With 501's at $50 the sliders aren't much more.

I'd be interested in some feedback on this as well. I just wear 501s too

For me I find its very convenient to just go and jump on the bike and ride it in whatever you have on if its local short rides ....maybe its just my inherent laziness but the thought of having to change all my clothes and shoes every time I go out for a ride would put me off using the bike.

That said ,..the one time some idiot knocks me off my bike I'm sure that as I slide along the road on my arse the only thought that is likely to be going through my head is 'I wish I was wearing some of those kevlar pants '

I'm getting dragged kicking a screaming to the real riding pants mode. but still balk adding them for the ride to town. Then with a 36" inseam and a 34 waist It's very hard finding pants that have the armor in a useable spot. I have a pair of over pants that work but man they can parboil me in hot weather.

Wouldn't mind giving them a try,,,bout the same price as real leather.
HEY PEANUT,,,,IF someone knocks me off my ride,,, there will be a lot more to worry with than losing some skin,,,
If ya get my drift,,,hehheh

I have crash tested Levis. New ones will slide about five inches before you're through them. I'm comfortable in the Sliders. I just wear them out and about.

My inseam is 36", but my waist is no longer 34". Sliders are available in 34X36.

I have kevlar jeans, and I crash tested them!

It was on a roundabout(traffic circle for those across the pond)-still learning to ride mind!- following my instructor who was in a hurry to get back. Stupidly tried to use his line going through it, but I wasn't leaning over enough. Panicked, I pulled the front brake. Something I won't ever do again on a roundabout or corner!

Dropped the bike at about 15mph, sprained my right ankle, don't know how far I slid, but I was sure glad there was armour in my trousers! Not a scratch or bruise, apart from my foot. Jeans survived well too, I still wear them today. Highly recommended!

I am pretty consistent about gear, but usually just wear jeans with boots, armoured jacket, helmet and gloves. I have a set of Joe Rocket armoured pants with zip out liner, but seldom put them on for casual rides.

1 of the australian uni,s did a test on m/c clothing which was very intresting ,on utube ,go to abctbcatalyst then motorcycle clothing ,the first 1/2 in on over heating then about 9.40 min in the abrasive testing on materials ,intresting was the ballistic nylon which my jacket is was the worst of the lot, even denium was better (sorry would do a link but my computer skills suck)

OK. I tested them for you yesterday. It was ugly, but I'm fine. I have raspberries on my knees where the fabric rubbed them. They have holes in them, but only the outer fabric. Maybe there's still another crash in them. That is not true for my helmet. I'll do another thread to keep this one on course.

Yep. Bike is toast. I'll be back at work tomorrow or the next day. Thanks!

The pants saved my skin. Raspberries on the knees, but I have the same on my right belly, my back, shoulder, and my elbows. They were protected by leather.

I'll have to look into getting some of those pants. I'm just getting to where I can work on my bike again that was parked for five years. I was trying to kick start it and leaned too far right. Dropped it on my knee, trapping it against a wooden barrel planter. Goose egg finally going down. Doubt the pants would have helped, but it made me more sensitive about what I'll be wearing once I finally get it to run.

BTW, how would you compare these to leather riding chaps?

Cheers!

No, the Sliders won't protect you from a goose egg. They are roomy enough for under armor.

Assless chaps are that. What if you were sliding on your butt? Otherwise, they're fine. Chaps are great wind protection, Sliders are not.

Thanks for the info Marty. Like many who have commented here, I'm not all that excited about changing clothes every time I ride. I'm thinking of alternatives for when I ride to work, for instance. In the cooler weather, the Sliders sound great, but when it's hot, chaps might be an easier alternative.

By the way, I see you're from Dahlonega, Georgia. I have had occasion to portray one of your more famous residents for our local historical society. See if you can guess who it is.

It depends upon your dress code at work. Sliders are comfortable in warm weather. I can wear them all day just fine.
