I had a problem with using a cap from my 650 tank on a 750 tank. They apparently had the same p/n but the bar thats welded to the tank was welded in a dif location. I wound up having to drill out the spot weld and relocate the hinge on the tank. Just an idea of what might be wrong.
Leo I have the right side cover off. I can move the plates by hand they dont seem stuck to anything. Everything looks clean in there? I pulled the clutch off I am going to clean every thing up and put it all back together and see if that helps.

Ran out to harbour freight picked some up. They were just the right size to fit in there. Stuck one on the clutch rod and stuck it in there... Pulled both balls out! Great idea! thanks

Do exactly what this says and you will have no problems. If you plan on reusing the factory connector you might have to move some of the wires around on the connector.

okay so checking my wiring. My stator wiring has actually 5 white wires. but with one with green cloth covering and one with black cloth cover. I am assuming green to green and black to red.
I also had to repin the 6 pin connector supplied with the replacement reg/rect.
