Video Thread

Well said Peanut! I did wonder the same thing! Fantastic "pride" support there! One of her family is in trouble, she needs to help!!! Makes me proud to be a cat lover!

That dog video does not run its full length. The one I first saw was on the news. At the point where the lady leans over to check the child she than turns around and runs toward the house leaving the kid for whatever reason. That dog shouldn't be running loose. When I walk my dogs on a leash I go prepared for anything. My dogs will walk right by another dog when its leashed but if a loose dog comes running in on us theres going to be a problem. I have witnessed my dogs act different from one person to another. People should keep there dog leashed regardless what they think they know about their dog.

well said jefft :thumbsup:thats the most responsible thing I've heard a dog owner say for a long time.

I think we should be cautious and proactive where any animal is concerned including cats. They can cause such a huge amount of damage in such a short space of time and none of us really understand what makes them tick.

I suspect that there might be a bit of history between the dog and the childs family that we are not aware of .Its rare to see a pet dog attack without cause or warning like that . Obviously the boys scent alerted the dog but it looked like it triggered an innate response in the dog. We'll probably never know.

Airwolfie ....:D have you got that beast of yours going yet ? I've been out of tuch for a while.
I still think you are going to be riding yours before mine . :(

Mine is lanquishing in the garage and all the shiny aluminium is now corroding like mad . .....

I must have another go at tuning those carbs or it will be winter again.

There were AT LEAST three separate video surveillance cameras pointed at one spot on the street? Sniff, sniff, sniff. There's more to this story.....

I have had several close encounters with loose aggressive dogs as I have been walking my two dogs leashed. It is a very uneasy helpless feeling if you ever been there. I certainly don't want to kill a dog. I finally bought a rechargable 2 foot long stun baton that I tuck in my belt when I walk the dogs. It has paid off several times even though I have never had to use it. It will unleash a 6 in. long white spark that would take anyone off there feet. I had a loose dog walking about 15 yds in front of his owner come in snarling and showing teeth one day a while back. I pulled the baton and fired it off in the air to detur the dog with the electric snap and white spark. He stopped dead in his tracks. The loose dogs owner got pissed (a guy about 40 yo) went and got his buddy and they started to follow me. (A stunner is legal in Arizona.) I called the police who showed up and looked my stunner over and told the two guys they better keep there dog leashed and to be on their way. The guy just didn't get it that I had done him and his dog a favor before they entered my dogs space.

you're right to be wary jefft.
I was once the first person to attend to an elderly lady after she had been savaged by a German Shepard.

She had a hole in her thigh big enough to put my fist into and when she put her hand down to protect her leg the dog took another chunk out the back of her hand down to the bone and sinews . It all happened in a split second .

When I arived there was what looked like a tin of sweetcorn all over the floor .I realised later that it was body fat. !

I grabbed the dog and took it across the road and it had been euthanised within 1/2 hour of the attack.
It turned out that the dog was a rescue dog which had spent most of its life in the cab of a truck on guard.

Hats off to you Peanut. Good thing you showed up as you most likely saved that little ladies life. Yea, I had a relative who's dog was killed and she was severly bitten when a Rottie jumped a fence one day as she was walking her dog. I am not a hater of any specific breed. I think any dog can make a good dog if properly socialized and cared for. I don't like seeing any dog tied up on a chain in the back yard. Dogs are mans best friend.

That story reminds me of when my wife worked for the humane society several years ago. It seems the police had dropped off a ferret the night before that they had taken from a home where a party was interrupted by the homeowner's infant in his crib screaming. The ferret was allowed to run loose and had gotten into the crib and had bitten the baby more than 50 times in the hands and face. The next morning the mother showed up at the Humane society to get the ferret back and was upset that they could not release it to her. Still sends chills up my back just thinking about some people.
